COURSE CURRICULUM

The Game Art & Animation graduate certificate program spans eight months and is designed to equip students with the advanced technical and creative skills required to excel in AAA game development. In the first semester, students focus on foundational skills such as digital sculpting, surfacing, look development, animation, level and environment design, procedural modeling, game engine production, and production design, gaining hands-on experience through hybrid and in-person instruction. Emphasis is placed on integrating artistic vision with technical proficiency, allowing students to create immersive and visually compelling 3D assets. The second semester builds on this foundation with advanced coursework in digital sculpting, surfacing, look development, animation, procedural modeling, game engine production, and core modeling, alongside portfolio development, presentation skills, and professional practice, ensuring students are prepared to enter the competitive gaming and interactive media industry. Throughout the program, students use industry-standard hardware and software, applying real-world techniques to design, model, animate, texture, and render high-quality characters, environments, and assets for games. By combining creative artistry, technical expertise, and production management skills, graduates emerge fully prepared for careers as game artists, 3D modelers, texture artists, animators, environment designers, and other roles in the dynamic field of interactive media, ready to contribute effectively to professional game development teams.
