COURSE CURRICULUM

The program is structured across two semesters, each offering a comprehensive mix of foundational and advanced courses to develop well-rounded 3D animation skills. Semester 1 focuses on core artistic and technical principles, beginning with Acting for Animators and Animation Principles, both delivered in a hybrid format to build performance awareness and foundational animation techniques. Students gain essential technical abilities through Modeling I – Concepts, Animation Tools, Basic Rigging, and Lighting, Texturing and Rendering, all offered in hybrid delivery. To strengthen traditional art skills, Life Drawing I is provided in person, ensuring hands-on instruction in anatomy and observational drawing. Storyboarding – Film Principles is delivered online, helping students learn visual storytelling and shot composition. Semester 2 transitions into advanced, production-focused coursework offered mainly in hybrid format during winter and summer terms. Students expand their technical toolkit through Advanced Digital Tools, while Project Development guides them through managing and executing animation projects. Advanced Modeling, Advanced Character Animation, Advanced Rigging, and Dynamics/MEL deepen their expertise in crafting complex characters, environments, and motion systems. Courses such as Lighting and Rendering refine students’ ability to produce polished, professional-quality visuals, while Life Drawing II continues the development of strong artistic foundations essential for high-level 3D animation work.
