COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Analytics program is structured over two semesters, combining foundational knowledge with advanced analytical skills and practical applications. In Semester 1, all courses are offered in hybrid and online formats, providing flexibility for students. Core courses include Statistics for Analytics, which develops essential statistical understanding, and Data Preparation and Handling, focusing on organizing and cleaning datasets for analysis. Analytics Case Studies allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world business scenarios, while Programming for Analytics teaches the coding skills necessary to manipulate and analyze data. Introduction to Data Visualization emphasizes presenting complex data clearly, and Strategic Leadership in Business Analytics equips students with the decision-making and leadership skills required to guide data-driven initiatives across organizations. Semester 2 builds on this foundation with advanced topics such as Sentiment Analysis and Text Mining, Predictive Analytics, Security, Privacy and Ethics for Business Analytics, and Applied Data Mining and Modelling, all delivered in hybrid or online formats, with select in-person options. The Business Analytics Consulting Capstone Project enables students to integrate their learning on a practical, client-focused project, demonstrating problem-solving and analytical capabilities. Students may also participate in an optional work-integrated learning term, supported by Work Term Preparation, providing industry experience and applied skills. Together, the program prepares graduates to support data-driven decision-making in diverse business environments.
