COURSE CURRICULUM

The Accelerated Law Clerk program’s coursework is designed to provide students with comprehensive legal knowledge and practical skills over a condensed timeframe, preparing them for work under the supervision of lawyers in fast-paced legal environments. In the first semester, students focus on foundational subjects including professional communication for law clerks, the Canadian legal system and immigration law, legal contracts in everyday life and social media, criminal law and access to justice, corporate and commercial law, litigation and personal injury, family law, real estate law, legal document production, and office procedures and project management. These courses develop essential skills such as legal drafting, research, problem-solving, organization, and effective communication, while introducing students to both substantive law and practical workflows in a legal office. The second semester emphasizes advanced and applied learning through corporate and commercial law II, litigation II, estates, debtor-creditor law, family law II, real estate law II with technology applications, professional conduct and career development, legal research, legal software applications, and a field placement, which provides hands-on experience in real-world legal settings. Together, the curriculum ensures graduates are proficient in legal principles, ethics, technology, and workplace practices, equipping them to confidently contribute in corporate, government, or private law firm environments.
