COURSE CURRICULUM

Law Clerk program spans four semesters and combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills to prepare students for careers as legal paraprofessionals in law firms, corporate environments, or government offices. In the first semester, students develop foundational communication skills through courses such as Communicating Across Contexts and Professional Communication for Law Clerks, while gaining an introduction to the Canadian legal system, immigration law, legal contracts, document production, and office procedures with project management. The second semester deepens legal expertise with courses in criminal law, corporate and commercial law, litigation, family law, and real estate, complemented by a general education course to support critical thinking and broader knowledge. Semester three advances technical and professional competencies through Corporate and Commercial Law II, Litigation II, Family Law II, Real Estate Law II and Technology, and Professional Conduct and Career Development, preparing students for ethical and effective workplace practice. The fourth semester emphasizes applied experience and professional readiness, with a field placement providing hands-on exposure, while Legal Research, Estates, Debtor Creditor law, and Legal Software Applications I and II ensure students are proficient in research, case management, and modern legal technologies. Across all semesters, the program integrates communication, critical thinking, and practical skills to produce graduates who are confident, competent, and workplace-ready in a variety of legal settings.
