COURSE CURRICULUM

The International Transportation & Customs (TCS) program offers a comprehensive four-semester curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in global logistics, customs brokerage, and freight forwarding. In the first semester, students build foundational knowledge through courses such as Introduction to Transportation, Introduction to Customs, Global Political Economics and Trade, Mathematics of Business and Finance, Business Computer Applications, and Communicating Across Contexts, developing essential analytical, technical, and communication skills. The second semester deepens expertise with Accounting I, International Freight Handling, Customs Process II, Customer Relationship Management and Consulting, World Geography, and Introduction to Sustainable Business, while also including a general education course to support well-rounded learning. Semester three focuses on advanced topics, including Trade Agreements and Customs Compliance I, International Transportation Documentation I, Customs Process III, Business Communication for the Digital Workplace, and Business Ethics and Values, along with preparation for the work-integrated learning term or non-co-op career planning course. Students in the co-op option gain practical experience through the International Transportation and Customs Co-op placement. The final semester emphasizes applied skills and industry readiness with International Transportation Documentation II, Trade Agreements and Customs Compliance II, Pricing and Quoting, Logistics, and Customs Process IV, complemented by another general education course. Throughout the program, students develop leadership, strategic decision-making, ethical reasoning, and project management skills, ensuring they are equipped to excel in the complex, global transportation and logistics sector.
