COURSE CURRICULUM

Seneca Polytechnic's Cosmetic Techniques & Management program offers a comprehensive four-semester curriculum that blends practical cosmetic skills with business and entrepreneurship training. In the first semester, students develop foundational knowledge in cosmetic products through Cosmetic Product Knowledge I, refine client interaction skills in Exceptional Customer Service, and build leadership abilities in Coaching and Leadership, while mastering professional beauty and glamour makeup techniques and enhancing communication skills in Communicating Across Contexts. The second semester advances product knowledge with Cosmetic Product Knowledge II, introduces retail systems in Retail Management Systems, and emphasizes ethical practice through Social Responsibility in the Cosmetic Industry. Students also gain expertise in fragrance sales and promotions and runway and screen makeup techniques, alongside general education coursework. The third semester focuses on entrepreneurship and marketing, offering courses in Cosmetic Entrepreneurship, Marketing and Private Label, and global industry insights in Global Trends and Traditions, while further developing skincare knowledge in Skin Care I and advanced makeup artistry in Editorial and Airbrush Makeup Techniques. In the fourth and final semester, students refine advanced skills in Skin Care II, Creative Makeup FX, and portfolio development through Portfolio Development, while learning to leverage digital marketing and social media to promote their professional brand. This integrated program equips graduates with the technical, creative, and business competencies needed to succeed in the competitive beauty industry.
