COURSE CURRICULUM

Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) program is a two-year, hands-on curriculum designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in understanding, analyzing, and modifying human behaviour. In the first semester, students are introduced to the history and principles of ABA, observational and assessment techniques, professional pathways, interpersonal communication skills, psychology, and foundational communication skills, establishing a strong theoretical and practical base. The second semester builds on this foundation, emphasizing ABA techniques and applications, behavioural assessment and data analysis, ethics and professionalism, human development, and working with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities, while also incorporating a general education course to broaden contextual understanding. In the third semester, students deepen their expertise through courses in legislation, policy and practice, skill-strengthening interventions, forensic and correctional applications, practicum preparation, and psychological disorders, reinforcing both clinical knowledge and applied skills. The final semester focuses on advanced interventions, including behaviour reduction strategies, inclusive and long-term community practices, acquired brain injury, and adult services, culminating in a professional practicum and development portfolio that integrates classroom learning with real-world experience. By completing this program, students develop the competence to design, implement, and evaluate behaviour intervention plans, work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, and apply evidence-based practices across clinical, educational, and community settings, preparing them for diverse careers in behavioural sciences and related fields.
