COURSE CURRICULUM

Seneca’s Acting for Camera and Voice diploma program spans two years and offers a comprehensive, hands-on curriculum designed to prepare students for professional careers in both film and voice acting. In the first semester, students build foundational skills with courses such as Basic Acting Skills, The Vocal Instrument, The Actor’s Body, and Acting Inside the Frame, while also developing communication proficiency through courses like Communicating Across Contexts. The second semester advances students’ abilities with Extending the Actor’s Voice, Dance Basics, Deepening Your On-Camera Work, and Acting on Impulses, alongside scriptwriting and period/style studies, providing a strong combination of performance and technical knowledge. In the third semester, the focus shifts to broadening and refining acting skills through courses such as Broadening Your Acting Skills, Finding Character Through Mask, Creating Demo Reels, Speaking in Dialects, The Actor and Technology, and Working with the Microphone I, allowing students to adapt to diverse media and performance contexts. The final semester emphasizes professional readiness and advanced performance with courses including Being Present Through Clown, Voice and Performance, Auditioning for Camera, Location Shooting, Working with the Microphone II, and Managing Your Career. This program equips students with expertise in acting for stage, camera, and voice, scriptwriting, demo reel creation, and career management, ensuring graduates are prepared to thrive in the competitive entertainment industry.
