COURSE CURRICULUM

Seneca’s two-year Accounting diploma program is structured to equip students with both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required for a successful career in accounting and business. In the first semester, students build foundational knowledge through courses such as Accounting Basics I, Introduction to Business Administration, business-focused mathematics, and communication skills, while also exploring sustainable business practices. The second semester advances these skills with Accounting Basics II, principles of microeconomics, marketing, business statistics, and systems studies, complemented by a general education course to broaden critical thinking and analytical abilities. In the third semester, students deepen their understanding through Intermediate Accounting I, Business Law for Accounting, business communication in a digital workplace, organizational behavior, and advanced systems studies, alongside another general education course. The fourth and final semester focuses on practical application and specialization, covering Taxation, Intermediate Accounting II, Managerial Accounting, macroeconomics, contemporary ethical issues, and advanced systems studies, ensuring graduates have both technical proficiency and an understanding of the broader business context. Across all semesters, flexible learning options including in-person, online, and hybrid courses allow students to adapt their studies to individual needs. Graduates leave the program prepared for entry-level accounting roles or further postsecondary education, equipped with essential financial, analytical, technological, and communication skills for dynamic work environments.
