COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Fundamentals certificate program is structured over two semesters to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in essential business concepts and practical skills. In the first semester, students focus on core courses including Pre-Business Accounting I, Business Foundations I, Introduction to Marketing I, Mathematics of Business and Finance, Business Computer Applications I, and Communicating Across Contexts or its enriched version. These courses equip students with a solid understanding of accounting principles, basic business operations, marketing fundamentals, quantitative reasoning, and effective communication skills, while also developing proficiency in essential computer applications. In the second semester, students build on this foundation through Pre-Business Accounting II, Business Foundations II, Introduction to Marketing II, Business Computer Applications II, Professional Presentation Skills, and Introduction to Sustainable Business. This combination of coursework enhances analytical thinking, problem-solving, and professional communication abilities, while introducing sustainability principles in a business context. By the end of the program, students will have developed critical skills necessary to succeed in further business studies or entry-level roles, including financial literacy, marketing strategy comprehension, technology proficiency, and professional presentation capabilities. The program provides a well-rounded preparation for continuing education in specialized business diploma programs such as Accounting, Marketing, International Business, or general Business studies, ensuring graduates are both academically prepared and workplace-ready.
