COURSE CURRICULUM

The English Language Learning program at Seneca is structured to provide intensive language development over an eight-month period, focusing on enhancing students’ reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills in English. In the first semester, students engage in courses such as Customized Language Learning – Intermediate, EAP: Intermediate Reading and Writing, and EAP: Intermediate Listening and Speaking, complemented by Introduction to Computers and Applications and Introduction to Seneca Studies. These courses are offered in flexible formats including online and in-person, allowing students to adapt their learning to their needs while building essential academic and digital literacy skills. In the second semester, the program advances students to higher proficiency levels through courses such as Customized Language Learning – Advanced, EAP: Advanced Reading and Writing Skills, and EAP: Advanced Listening and Speaking Skills, along with Introduction to Canadian Studies and Preparatory English Skills for Degree and Postgraduate Studies. The curriculum emphasizes practical communication, comprehension, and cultural awareness, equipping students to navigate academic and professional environments confidently. By the end of the program, graduates gain the ability to effectively express ideas, interpret complex information, and participate fully in English-speaking academic and workplace settings, preparing them for success in further diploma programs at Seneca or entry into the workforce.
