COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies program offers a structured yet flexible curriculum designed to provide students with a comprehensive, multidisciplinary education that spans business, community and health, communications and media, and data analysis. In the first four semesters, students complete foundational interdisciplinary courses while selecting 12 courses from two applied areas of study, allowing them to tailor their education to their interests and career goals. The program emphasizes critical skills such as leadership, ethics, social responsibility, negotiation, and professional identity in a digital world. From Semester 5 onward, students engage in advanced courses including principles of interdisciplinary studies, writing across disciplines, political science and economics, and navigating natural disasters, along with preparation for work-integrated learning opportunities. The program integrates hands-on experiential learning through a Work Term in Semester 6, enabling students to apply their knowledge in real-world professional contexts. In the final year, students focus on capstone research methods, a capstone final project, change leadership, and global sustainability, ensuring they develop evidence-based problem-solving abilities, research proficiency, and strategic thinking skills. Graduates emerge with a versatile, well-rounded skill set, ready to pursue careers across diverse sectors or continue their education, equipped to address complex challenges in an interconnected, rapidly evolving global landscape.
