COURSE CURRICULUM

The Business Technology Management program offers an eight-semester curriculum that integrates business fundamentals with advanced information technology, preparing students to manage and leverage digital systems in organizational settings. Early semesters establish core skills in business, statistics, information systems, IT infrastructure, marketing, programming, data management, accounting and communication. As students progress, they engage in advanced coursework including business law, quantitative decision making, systems analysis and design, microeconomics, ethics and technology, management accounting, data analytics, cloud technologies, organizational behaviour and presentation skills, alongside required liberal studies. Mid-program studies cover privacy in information systems, business finance, operations management, macroeconomics and professional elective options such as AI, health informatics, cloud technologies, human-computer interaction and data analytics tools. Students prepare for and complete a co-op work term, gaining real-world experience. Senior semesters emphasize project management, digital entrepreneurship, risk management, leadership, emergent technologies, research methods and IT audit and control. The final semester focuses on strategic management, technology planning and acquisition, an integration capstone project and additional professional electives. Through this blend of business and IT coursework, hands-on co-op experience and flexible elective pathways, graduates develop strong competencies in IT strategy, leadership, data analytics and technology-driven business decision-making.
