COURSE CURRICULUM

Advanced Diploma in Automation and Robotics Engineering Technology offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to equip students with the skills necessary to excel in automation, robotics, and mechatronics. In the first semester, students build foundational knowledge in programming, electronics, mathematics, instrumentation, and professional communication, establishing a base for technical proficiency. The second semester introduces mechanical design, digital electronics, AC circuits, machining theory, and interpersonal skills, further integrating electrical and mechanical concepts. In semester three, courses in electrical design, control systems, engineering codes, mechatronics, and mechanics provide advanced technical expertise, while a work term preparation course and general education studies ensure practical readiness. The program includes two co-op work-integrated learning terms, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world industry settings, gaining hands-on experience in automation and electromechanical systems. The fourth and fifth semesters expand into motors and transformers, mechatronics concepts, process control, totally integrated automation, CNC technology, industrial IoT, manufacturing operations, and robotics fundamentals, emphasizing applied problem-solving and design skills. The final semester focuses on cloud and manufacturing data analytics, robotic applications, simulation for design, and a capstone project, complemented by professional options and general education, preparing graduates for advanced careers as engineering technologists in automated manufacturing, robotics, and mechatronics industries.
