COURSE CURRICULUM

This three-year Advanced Diploma in Business Administration with a specialization in Financial Planning provides students with a comprehensive education in both core business administration and specialized financial planning. In the first year, students build a strong foundation in business fundamentals through courses such as Introduction to Business Administration, Professional Presentation Skills, Business Computer Applications, Accounting, Mathematics of Business and Finance, Marketing, Organizational Behaviour, and Sustainable Business, alongside developing communication skills and digital literacy. The second year deepens knowledge in managerial and financial areas, including Managerial Accounting, Financial Management, Canadian Securities Courses, Project Management, Business Law, Economics, and Human Resources, while enhancing analytical and data management skills. The final year emphasizes specialized financial planning, covering topics such as Retirement, Education, and Disability Planning, Income Tax Planning, Risk Management and Insurance, Estate Planning, Investment Planning, Financial Planning Behaviour, and the use of Financial Planning Software. Students also develop critical soft skills, including emotional intelligence, business ethics, negotiation, and customer service, preparing them for professional practice. Additionally, the program includes a Work-Integrated Learning co-op term, providing hands-on experience in financial planning environments, bridging theory with practice, and equipping graduates to provide sound financial advice, manage personal finances, and succeed in the evolving financial services industry in Canada.
