COURSE CURRICULUM

Advanced Accounting diploma program offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to provide students with in-depth technical knowledge and practical skills in accounting, finance, and related business disciplines, preparing them for professional roles in various financial sectors. Over six semesters, students develop a solid foundation in financial and managerial accounting, cost accounting, auditing, taxation, and financial management, while also gaining expertise in systems studies, business law, organizational behaviour, and contemporary ethical issues. The program emphasizes hands-on application, including the use of accounting software and technology tools essential for modern financial management. Students also build proficiency in key tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Dynamics, and Sage ERP to support data analysis, reporting, and decision-making. In addition to core accounting and finance courses, students enhance their communication, quantitative reasoning, and business analysis skills through courses in business communication, quantitative approaches to decision-making, and finance. The program incorporates work-integrated learning options, including two co-op terms and work term preparation, allowing students to gain real-world experience, apply classroom knowledge in professional environments, and develop industry connections. By the final semester, students engage in advanced financial accounting, corporate taxation, auditing, and accounting case studies, ensuring graduates are well-prepared to enter the workforce or pursue further professional certifications in accounting and finance.
