COURSE CURRICULUM

The Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics certificate program at Saskatchewan Polytechnic provides students with the skills and knowledge to analyze large datasets, detect patterns, and make predictive decisions for business and industry. Over two semesters, students gain a solid foundation in both the technical and business aspects of data science. In the first semester, courses cover business mathematics and data analytics, data engineering, programming for data science, web analytics, business intelligence tools, and business technology communications, totaling 15 credits. This semester equips students with the analytical and technical skills needed to manage and interpret complex data while understanding the communication and business context of their work. In the second semester, students advance to enterprise data architecture, introduction to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence for management and ethical issues, alongside a course in Indigenous studies and a capstone project, also totaling 15 credits. These courses emphasize the application of AI and machine learning algorithms to solve real-world business problems, the ethical implications of AI use, and strategies for integrating AI solutions into enterprise systems. Hands-on projects and a capstone allow students to demonstrate their ability to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions, preparing graduates for careers where they can leverage AI and predictive analytics to optimize decision-making, drive innovation, and support organizational growth.
