COURSE CURRICULUM

The Interactive Design and Technology diploma at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is a two-year, hands-on program that equips students with the skills to create engaging digital experiences across multiple platforms. In Semester 1, students build a foundation in design fundamentals, user experience (UX), image editing, vector graphics, web development, photography, and professional practices. Semester 2 expands these skills with audio and video production, social media, electronic publishing, digital marketing, advanced UX design, and continued web development. Semester 3 introduces mobile application design, advanced image and vector graphics, 3D fundamentals, content management systems, digital marketing, and professional practices, preparing students to tackle more complex projects. Semester 4 emphasizes emerging interactive technologies, immersive technologies including VR and AR, creative computing, mobile application development, advanced video production, and an interactive media project that integrates practical skills. The final semester offers students the choice of a client-directed project or a work experience term, providing real-world application and industry exposure. Throughout the program, students engage in hands-on learning, applying theory to practical projects that simulate professional environments, from web and app development to multimedia content creation and immersive experiences. Graduates leave the program with a strong portfolio, technical proficiency, and collaborative experience, ready to enter careers in digital design, interactive media, and emerging technology industries.
