Saskatchewan Polytechnic is the leading public post-secondary institution in Saskatchewan dedicated to technical education, hands-on skills training and career-focused learning. With campuses in Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina and Saskatoon, along with extensive online and distance education options, it serves students across the province and beyond. The institution works closely with industry, employers and community partners to ensure its programs support labour-market needs and prepare graduates for effective employment in a wide range of fields. Saskatchewan Polytechnic maintains strong reciprocal arrangements with partner institutions, including the Dumont Technical Institute, First Nations University of Canada, Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies, the University of Regina and the University of Saskatchewan. These partnerships enhance student mobility, cultural support, academic pathways and collaborative learning opportunities.Offering over 150 programs, Saskatchewan Polytechnic provides education in applied and visual media, aviation, business, engineering technologies, basic education, community and human services, hospitality and food services, industrial and trades training, natural resources, recreation, tourism, nursing, health sciences and various technology disciplines. It is also a major provider of apprenticeship training across multiple trades, supporting both new learners and experienced professionals seeking certification or advancement. Each of the four campuses contributes to this broad educational mandate. The Saskatoon Campus, formerly known as SIAST Kelsey Campus, is situated on Treaty 6 territory and has a history dating back to 1941 when it was established to train returning war veterans. The Moose Jaw Campus, on Treaty 4 territory, originated in 1959 as the Saskatchewan Technical Institute. Regina’s campus, also on Treaty 4 territory, began in 1972 as the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Arts and Sciences. The Prince Albert Campus, located on Treaty 6 territory, was established in 1986 as the Northern Institute of Technology. These institutions were merged on January 1, 1988, under The Institute Act and the Regional Colleges Act to form the Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST). On September 24, 2014, the institution was officially renamed Saskatchewan Polytechnic to reflect its province-wide role and applied learning focus.
