COURSE CURRICULUM

The Master of Arts in Intercultural and International Communication features a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop advanced communication expertise across global, cultural and organizational contexts. Courses begin with foundational orientation through Introduction to Academic Integrity before moving into core studies such as Global Thought and Communication, Organizational Communication, Culture and Development, Social Marketing and Intercultural Theory and Practice. You’ll deepen your analytical abilities through Communication Research Methods, while building practical competencies in areas like Communication for Health and Well-being, Intercultural Communication Competence, Migration and Diaspora Studies and Digital Data and Social Media. The program also emphasizes creativity and applied learning through Enhancing Communication Creativity and Diversity and Communication for Development and Social Change. Students choose between two completion pathways: the Intercultural Communication Learning Project, which applies communication strategies to real-world challenges, or the Research Paper in Communication, which integrates scholarly inquiry with professional practice. Seminars and advanced courses, including the Graduate Seminar in Intercultural Settings, provide opportunities to explore contemporary issues in intercultural engagement and global communication systems. Overall, the curriculum equips you with the theoretical grounding, practical tools and analytical skills needed to work effectively in diverse international environments and lead communication initiatives across sectors.
