COURSE CURRICULUM

Diploma in Applied Environmental Sciences provides a comprehensive foundation in environmental science through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical, hands-on experience. In the first year, students build essential skills in writing and critical thinking, algebra and trigonometry, cell biology, ecology, and interdisciplinary research and practice, followed by courses in the history of science and environmental thought, human geography, laboratory and field school, statistics for environmental and social science, and the structure, bonding, and properties of materials. In the second year, the program advances to applied calculus, qualitative and quantitative research methods, leadership for change, microbiology, and physical and organic chemistry, complemented by applied physics, ecological economics, environmental chemistry through blended learning, laboratory and field school, and systems thinking. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on learning in laboratories and field settings, fostering the ability to apply scientific principles to real-world environmental challenges. Students develop critical analytical skills, a strong understanding of ecological and social systems, and the capacity to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams. By integrating quantitative and qualitative research, fieldwork, and theoretical frameworks, the program prepares students to address complex environmental problems, understand ecological and human interactions, and contribute effectively to sustainability initiatives and environmental decision-making in diverse professional contexts.
