COURSE CURRICULUM

The CyberSecurity diploma program spans two years and is structured to progressively develop students’ skills through a comprehensive mix of theoretical learning and practical experience. In the first year, Term 1 introduces students to essential IT and communication skills with courses such as Communication Strategies, Networking for Information Security, Introduction to Security Operations, IT Foundations, and Customer Experience, totaling 27 credit hours. These courses provide a solid grounding in technical networking, fundamental security practices, and the importance of customer service in IT roles. In Term 2, students build on this foundation with advanced communication in Communication for the Workplace, and deepen their technical skills through Vulnerability and Patch Management, IT Service Management, IT Architecture and Design, and Security Foundations, adding another 24 credit hours. The second year focuses on advanced cybersecurity competencies. In Term 3, students enhance their professional communication in Communication for Systems and Innovative Thinking and take specialized courses such as Security Monitoring, Detection and Response, Security Operations, IT Security Infrastructure, and IT Service Delivery, totaling 27 credit hours. These courses are designed to refine technical problem-solving abilities, operational security knowledge, and infrastructure management. In the final term, Term 4, students choose electives and participate in either a Co-op or an Industry Project, both worth 6 credit hours each, giving them the opportunity to apply their knowledge in real-world environments and gain valuable industry experience. The curriculum is carefully designed to ensure a balanced blend of soft skills, technical knowledge, and hands-on learning, preparing graduates for entry-level roles in cybersecurity by equipping them with the necessary tools to manage risks, secure IT environments, and respond effectively to security threats.
