COURSE CURRICULUM

The Environmental Engineering Technology program provides a comprehensive blend of technical, scientific and managerial training that prepares students to address environmental challenges across multiple sectors. In Term 4, students build a strong analytical and technical foundation through courses such as Calculus & Statistics, Geo-Environmental Fundamentals, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Analysis, Chemistry 2 and Health and Safety, while also developing essential project coordination abilities in Project Administration and technical mapping skills in Fundamentals of GIS. Term 5 features a valuable co-op work placement, giving students hands-on industry experience and the opportunity to apply classroom learning in real environmental settings. In Term 6, the program advances into specialized areas, including Environmental Management, Waste Management, Water and Wastewater, Remote Sensing and Digital Photography, and Hydrology, ensuring students develop expertise in monitoring, assessing and managing natural and built environments. Additional courses such as Engineering Economics and Supervisory Management strengthen students’ leadership and decision-making abilities, helping them understand project costs, resource allocation and team coordination. Altogether, this curriculum equips graduates with the skills needed for careers in environmental protection, water and wastewater operations, solid waste management, environmental monitoring, GIS applications and sustainable resource management, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to environmental stewardship and industry sustainability.
