COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electronic Engineering Technology program builds on foundational knowledge to provide students with advanced technical expertise and practical experience necessary for a successful career as an electronic engineering technologist. In Year 2, students focus on communication circuits, digital and embedded systems, analog devices, industrial electronics, digital signal processing, routing and switching, and electronic measurements, while also advancing their skills in technical communications and calculus. Hands-on learning is emphasized through labs and applied projects, ensuring students gain practical experience with industry-standard equipment and methodologies. In Term 6, students further integrate their learning through a co-op work experience and an engineering technology report, providing real-world exposure, professional networking, and application of classroom knowledge in workplace settings. In Year 3, the program emphasizes advanced topics such as circuits and fields, project management, biomedical applications, wireless systems, digital mobile communications, and advanced digital signal processing, complemented by technical thesis work and a final project to consolidate learning and demonstrate professional competence. Throughout the program, students develop essential skills in problem-solving, quality assurance, professional documentation, and ethical practice. By combining theoretical study, practical laboratory experience, applied projects, and industry co-op placements, graduates are prepared to excel in diverse fields, including electronics design, embedded systems, communications, industrial electronics, signal processing, and biomedical technologies, positioning them for a dynamic and rewarding career in the evolving electronics industry.
