COURSE CURRICULUM

The Digital Media Design – Interaction Design and Development diploma program offers an advanced, hands-on curriculum designed to prepare students for careers in web design, front-end development, and User Experience (UX) design. Building on the foundational skills acquired in the one-year DMD certificate program, students in Year 2 focus on both creative and technical competencies across a range of digital media disciplines. In Term 3, courses include User Experience 2, User Interface Design 1, User Interface Typography 1, Front-End Development 1, Content Management Systems 1, Server Side Programming, Digital Media Design Communications 3, Interactive Media Marketing, and Web Design 3, providing a balance of design theory, technical programming, and marketing knowledge essential for creating responsive, user-centered websites and applications. Term 4 advances these skills through courses such as User Experience 3, User Interface Design 2, User Interface Typography 2, Front-End Development 2, Content Management Systems 2, Web Design 4, Digital Media Design Communications 4, and the Digital Media Design Studio Project, where students integrate their learning into real-world design projects. The program concludes with a two-credit work experience course, allowing students to apply their knowledge in an industry setting, gain practical experience, and develop professional connections.
