COURSE CURRICULUM

The Automotive Technician diploma program is designed to provide students with advanced technical knowledge and practical skills necessary for careers in automotive maintenance and repair. In the second year, students build on foundational skills through specialized courses and hands-on experiences, covering essential topics such as automotive electrical systems, engine management, and electrical diagnosis, while also strengthening communication skills for transportation contexts. The curriculum emphasizes applied learning, with a dedicated field experience course allowing students to gain real-world exposure and practical problem-solving skills in professional environments. Advanced math and safety training are integrated to ensure students are prepared for the technical and regulatory demands of the automotive industry. In subsequent terms, students study manual transmissions, clutches, differentials, suspension, steering, alignment, engine diagnosis and repair, and advanced science concepts for transportation, combining theory with applied practice. Elective courses, including HVAC, vehicle emissions and performance, and electric vehicle technology, allow students to tailor their learning to emerging trends and specialized areas within the automotive sector. The program concludes with advanced vehicle service and starting and charging systems, alongside accreditation preparation, ensuring graduates are fully equipped with both the technical expertise and industry-recognized credentials needed to succeed as skilled automotive technicians, capable of adapting to evolving automotive technologies and workplace requirements.
