ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Red River College Polytechnic (RRC Polytech), located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, is the province’s largest institute for applied learning and research, offering over 200 certificate, diploma, degree, and post-graduate programs. Serving more than 21,000 students annually, including 1,500 international students from over 60 countries, the college covers diverse fields such as biotechnology, construction trades, digital multimedia, business, aerospace, nursing, and engineering technology. Established in 1963 as the Manitoba Institute of Technology, it merged with the Manitoba Institute of Applied Arts in 1969 to become Red River Community College, later renamed Red River College in 1998, and finally rebranded to Red River College Polytechnic in 2021 to reflect its emphasis on applied research and hands-on learning. The main Notre Dame Campus and the Exchange District Campus, which includes the Roblin Centre and the Paterson GlobalFoods Institute, serve as major learning hubs. In 2021, RRC Polytech opened the Manitou a bi Bii daziigae innovation centre to further support digital and creative programming. The Manitoba government announced a CA$12 million investment in 2022 to build a 16,630 sq. ft. Health Sciences and Community Services Simulation Centre at the Notre Dame Campus, supporting the expansion of nursing education. Additionally, the college offers EAL (English as an Additional Language) programs and youth initiatives like Kids Technology Camps, fostering early interest in trades and technology.
