COURSE CURRICULUM

MSc program in Cognitive Neuroscience, students engage in intensive research training and structured coursework designed to build methodological, theoretical, and empirical expertise. In the first year, students begin their Master’s Thesis Research by enrolling in PSYC 899, submitting a thesis proposal, and initiating data collection. They also participate in a Cognitive Neuroscience Research Pro-seminar (PSYC 811, 812, 907, or 908) and complete core statistical training through PSYC 801 Design of Experiments and PSYC 802 Introduction to Multivariate Analysis. To deepen their understanding of specialized areas within cognitive neuroscience, students select two seminar courses from four thematic options: PSYC 961 Processing and Interaction in the Real World, PSYC 962 Memory and Learning, PSYC 963 Decision Making, and PSYC 964 Social and Motivational Processes. In the second year, students continue in PSYC 899 to finish data collection, defend their thesis orally, and submit their completed thesis. They again take a Cognitive Neuroscience Research Pro-seminar and may enroll in additional seminar courses from the thematic list if not completed earlier. Together, these requirements ensure that students gain advanced research experience, strong statistical foundations, and exposure to core topics in cognitive neuroscience.
