COURSE CURRICULUM

The MSc in Finance curriculum is structured to provide students with a robust foundation in research, financial theory, and quantitative methods while allowing flexibility for specialized study in economics and management. The program begins with core courses in research foundations and a major research project, which are designed to develop students’ abilities to conduct independent, rigorous research and apply analytical techniques to complex financial problems. Students then focus on specialization courses, including capital markets theory and empirics, as well as financial economics, which provide in-depth knowledge of asset pricing, corporate finance, and empirical finance, enabling students to understand both theoretical and applied aspects of financial markets. Elective courses, approved by a supervisor, allow students to tailor their learning to specific interests, such as microeconomic and macroeconomic theory or advanced topics in economics and management, ensuring a well-rounded and interdisciplinary perspective. Complementing these courses, methods and related field courses in econometrics, applied statistics, and quantitative methods equip students with essential analytical and modeling skills necessary for high-level research and data-driven decision-making. With a total of 18 credits, the program balances theoretical rigor, practical application, and research training, preparing graduates for careers in finance, consulting, policy, and academia or for further doctoral studies.
