COURSE CURRICULUM

The Mathematical Physics program provides a rigorous and integrated curriculum that combines advanced studies in mathematics, statistics, and physics, preparing students for both theoretical and applied research. The core mathematics and statistics courses build a strong foundation in linear algebra, calculus, ordinary differential equations, advanced calculus, real and complex analysis, and probability and statistics, equipping students with essential analytical and quantitative skills. The physics core complements this with courses covering fundamental physics, dynamics, oscillations, waves, optics, electromagnetism, relativity, quantum mechanics, thermodynamics, and experimental methods, including a research thesis that emphasizes independent inquiry and application of theoretical knowledge. Students can further tailor their degree through advanced mathematics options, such as differential geometry, Fourier analysis, dynamical systems, functional analysis, and partial differential equations, alongside upper-level physics options to deepen expertise in specialized areas. Elective courses allow for additional exploration, ensuring a minimum of 120 units for the Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree.
