COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Geology at Queen’s University is a rigorous and interdisciplinary program designed to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in earth sciences, environmental studies, and related social sciences. The core science curriculum includes courses in biology, chemistry, mathematics, physics, human and physical geography, and geology, giving students the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for understanding natural systems. The geology-focused component emphasizes oceanography, mineralogy, petrology, sedimentology, stratigraphy, geophysical characterization, geological field methods, and advanced topics such as structural geology, paleontology, and geochemical characterization, complemented by field school and upper-level geology courses.
