COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Psychology at Queen’s University is a four-year interdisciplinary program designed to integrate the study of biological systems with the principles of psychology, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of brain, behavior, and cognition. The program begins with a strong foundation in biology, including molecular and cellular biology, organismal biology, genetics, evolutionary biology, ecology, and physiology, complemented by general chemistry and scientific methods. In parallel, students study core psychological concepts through courses in principles of psychology, statistics, and research methods, building essential skills in experimental design, data analysis, and critical thinking. Upper-year courses allow for specialization in both biology and psychology, with options to explore areas such as cognitive psychology, developmental psychology, social psychology, clinical psychology, and cognitive neuroscience, alongside advanced biology electives at the 300-level or above. Students gain hands-on experience through laboratory work, research projects, and experiential learning that bridge the biological and psychological sciences. The program emphasizes cross-disciplinary integration, enabling students to understand the biological bases of behavior while examining psychological processes. With a total of 120 units, including electives, graduates are well-prepared for careers in research, healthcare, neuroscience, behavioral science, and related fields, as well as for graduate studies in biology, psychology, or interdisciplinary cognitive and behavioral sciences.
