COURSE CURRICULUM

The Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology and Mathematics at Queen’s University is a 120-unit interdisciplinary program that integrates rigorous training in both biological and mathematical sciences. The biology core provides foundational knowledge in molecular and cell biology (BIOL 102), organisms to ecosystems (BIOL 103), diversity of life (BIOL 200), Mendelian and molecular genetics (BIOL 205), evolutionary genetics (BIOL 206), scientific methods in biology (BIOL 212), ecology (BIOL 300), cell biology (BIOL 330), and electives in comparative biochemistry, animal physiology, or plant physiology (BIOL 334, 339, 341), along with statistics (BIOL 243). The mathematics core includes linear algebra (MATH 110, 112, 212), calculus (MATH 120, 121, 123 & 124), vector and advanced calculus (MATH 221, 280), ordinary differential equations (MATH 225), applied probability and statistics (STAT 252, 268, 269), and specialized courses such as modeling techniques in biology (MATH 300) and game theory (MATH 339). Students complete additional options in advanced-level biology, mathematics, and statistics, along with electives to meet the total unit requirement.
