COURSE CURRICULUM

The four-year Bachelor of Commerce program at Smith School of Business is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in core business disciplines while offering flexibility for specialization and experiential learning. In the first year, students build essential knowledge through courses such as Introduction to Commerce, Financial and Management Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, Principles of Economics for Business, Managerial Economics, Managerial Statistics, and Mathematical Analysis, complemented by non-commerce electives, totaling 33 units. The second year advances students’ understanding of Finance, Marketing, Business Decision Models, International Business, Human Resources Management, and Digital Business and Technologies, alongside additional commerce and non-commerce electives, again totaling 33 units. In the third and fourth years, students focus on upper-level core courses including Operations Management, Business for Good: Impact-Driven Leadership, and Business and Corporate Strategy, while completing 30 units of commerce electives, 12 units of non-commerce electives, and 9 units of additional electives, totaling 60 units. Across all four years, the program requires 60 units of core commerce courses, 30 units of commerce electives, 24 units of non-commerce electives, and 12 units of additional electives, culminating in a total of 126 units. This carefully sequenced curriculum equips students with a robust understanding of business theory and practice, critical decision-making skills, and the flexibility to tailor their education to individual career goals, global perspectives, and opportunities for social impact.
