COURSE CURRICULUM

This Psychology Honours BA plan requires 120.00 total units, combining core courses, option requirements, and electives. Students first complete foundational courses, including Principles of Psychology (6.00 units), Statistics in Psychology (3.00), Research Methods in Psychology (3.00), Advanced Statistical Inference (3.00), and Advanced Research Methods (3.00). They then take 12.00 units from key subfields such as cognitive, clinical, social, developmental, or brain and behaviour. For upper-year specialization, students choose either the seminar option, completing 9.00 units of 400-level PSYC courses, or the thesis option, completing PSYC 501. An additional 12.00 units must be taken from four distribution lists representing clinical, cognitive/neuroscience, developmental, and social psychology. Students also complete 6.00 units of PSYC courses at the 300-level or higher and 3.00 units at the 200-level or above. The remaining 60.00 units come from electives or other plan requirements, which may include a minor. This structure provides a broad foundation in psychology, strong methodological training, and opportunities for advanced specialization.
