COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Media and Performance Production (MAPP) is a 4-year program that can be completed alone or alongside a Minor in another discipline, with sufficient electives to reach a minimum of 120.00 units. The program integrates studies in Drama, Music, and Film with media production, offering a comprehensive approach to creative practice and theoretical understanding. Core courses provide foundational knowledge, beginning with introductory options in Drama, Theatre, and Performance Studies or Music, alongside courses in Film and Media, including Film Form and Modern Culture, Mobile Communications, and Fundamentals of Media Production. Students then advance through MAPP-specific courses, such as Media and Performance I and II, culminating in the Media and Performance Major Project, which allows for a capstone creative experience. The program also requires students to select from a diverse range of options in media and performance, including specialized MAPP courses, Drama and Theatre performance studies, expanded media production, theory, and sound production, allowing for tailored skill development and interdisciplinary exploration. Complemented by 60.00 units of electives or other plan requirements, students gain extensive practical and conceptual training, preparing them for careers in media production, performance, immersive arts, or further graduate studies, blending artistic innovation with technological and media expertise in a dynamic and evolving cultural landscape.
