COURSE CURRICULUM

The Electrical Engineering program is structured to provide a comprehensive foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the discipline, ensuring students meet the minimum Accreditation Units (AU) required by ECE in each CEAB category while offering flexibility through electives. In the first year, students complete general courses and begin planning their elective paths, ensuring their total program exceeds 157.5 credits, includes at least five courses from Electives List A, and features a minimum of five fourth-year elective courses. The second-year core curriculum (2023–2024) builds essential technical knowledge with courses such as Electric Circuits (ELEC 221), Continuous-Time Signals and Systems (ELEC 224), Electronics I (ELEC 252), Digital Systems (ELEC 271), Computer Architecture (ELEC 274), Fundamentals of Information Structures (ELEC 278), Fundamentals of Electromagnetics (ELEC 280), Electrical and Computer Engineering Design and Practice (ELEC 290), and Introduction to Data Science (ELEC 292), alongside differential equations and complex analysis (MTHE 225/235, 228) and Complementary Studies, totaling 46.00 units. In the third year (2024–2025), students advance into Discrete-Time Signals and Systems (ELEC 324), Probability and Random Processes (ELEC 326), Electronics II (ELEC 353), Microprocessor Interfacing and Embedded Systems (ELEC 371), Numerical Methods and Optimization (ELEC 372), Applications of Electromagnetics (ELEC 381), Solid State Devices (ENPH 336), Economic and Business Practice (APSC 221), and select technical and complementary electives, totaling 38.75 units. The fourth-year program (2025–2026) focuses on the capstone Electrical Engineering Project (ELEC 490, 17.00 units), technical electives (19.85 units), and complementary studies (3.00 units), totaling 29.85 units and culminating in a well-rounded, industry-ready degree.
