COURSE CURRICULUM

Providence University College, students beginning their Aviation program have a rich and diverse academic and practical schedule. Before the fall semester, they can register for the one-week Flight Training Camp held at the end of August, which includes Basic Flight Theory covering Air Law, General Knowledge, Meteorology, and Navigation, along with Private Flight Lab 1 focusing on additional Air Law, Flight Theory, and Radio Proficiency—both requiring a Class 1 or 3 Medical exam. In their first semester, students also take Introduction to the Old Testament, exploring the structure and themes of the Bible, and Christian Spirituality: Formation, which discusses human nature, spiritual growth, and challenges to faith. They’ll also participate in a Field Education Practicum, volunteering in settings like churches, soup kitchens, or care homes. In the second semester (January), students move on to Private Flight Lab 2, emphasizing aircraft control and instrument work in preparation for the Private Pilot License exam. Academically, they’ll explore Introduction to the New Testament, and choose one course in History or English Literature (e.g., Western Civilization or Major English Writers), one in Math or Science (e.g., Statistical Analysis or Environmental Science), and one in the Social Sciences (e.g., Intro to Psychology or Sociology), building a well-rounded educational foundation.
