ABOUT UNIVERSITY

Providence University College and Theological Seminary is an Evangelical Christian institution located in Otterburne, Manitoba, approximately 50 km southeast of Winnipeg. Founded in 1925 as The Winnipeg Bible Training School, it underwent several name changes and relocations before becoming Providence University College and Theological Seminary in 2011. The institution consists of a University College offering bachelor’s degrees in Arts, Science, Business Administration, and Theology, with popular majors including Aviation, Communications, Psychology, and Biblical Studies. It also houses an English Language Institute for international students and the Buller School of Business. In 2022, Providence expanded to offer a two-year Associate of Arts in Business in downtown Winnipeg.The Theological Seminary offers graduate certificates, diplomas, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in leadership, chaplaincy, Christian studies, counselling, and more. Notable programs include the Master of Arts in Counselling, Master of Divinity, and Doctor of Ministry. Courses are offered in flexible formats such as in-person, modular, hybrid, and online. In 2023, Providence introduced the Centre for On-Demand Education (CODE), focused on upskilling individuals and employees. The William Falk Library supports students with over 100,000 volumes and 200 study spaces. Providence is accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education and has partnerships with several Canadian universities.
