COURSE CURRICULUM

The Chemical Biology program combines foundational and advanced coursework in both biology and chemistry to explore the interface between these disciplines. Students begin with essential subjects such as Biology I and II, Chemistry I and II, Calculus, and Physics, ensuring a solid grounding in the physical and life sciences. As the program progresses, students delve into core areas including Genetics and Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry I and II, and Thermodynamics and Kinetics. Chemistry-focused courses such as Structure and Bonding, Organic Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, and Physical Chemistry further deepen their understanding of chemical processes and techniques. Upper-year studies include specialized topics such as Molecular Structure Determination, Advanced Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, and Advanced Biochemistry. The program also explores cutting-edge areas through courses like Bio-Organic Chemistry and Chemical Biology, and Advanced Topics in Chemical Biology. Students have the option to complete a two-part Chemistry Thesis Project, offering hands-on research experience.
