COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Science Honours program requires students to complete 120 credit hours, guided by science academic advisors to tailor their studies according to individual interests and career goals. The program begins with 27 credit hours of first-year required science courses, including foundational biology, chemistry, programming, mathematics, and physics. Students aiming for upper-year physics or mathematics courses must meet specific prerequisites or achieve a B standing in relevant courses. The program also includes 15 credit hours of core biological science courses covering human physiology, genetics, cell biology, microbiology, and biochemistry. In addition, students must complete 27 credit hours of upper-year specialization courses in biological science, with at least six credit hours at the fourth-year level. Another 27 credit hours are required in additional science courses, which must include bioethics, organic chemistry, and statistics for biological science, along with a fourth-year science elective. The final 15 credit hours can be chosen from a wide range of science disciplines such as biology, chemistry, computer science, energy and environmental science, forensic science, mathematics, or physics. The program also offers a co-op option for experiential learning, and course offerings or requirements may change, ensuring students remain adaptable and well-prepared for various scientific careers.
