COURSE CURRICULUM

The Astrophysics program spans four years and offers a comprehensive curriculum that integrates foundational sciences with specialized physics and astronomy courses. In the first year, students build a strong base in chemistry, biology, programming, mathematics, and physics, choosing from options tailored to their background to prepare for upper-level courses. The second year deepens this knowledge with advanced mathematics, thermodynamics, mechanics, electricity and magnetism, and introduces astronomy, alongside scientific data analysis and statistics, all essential for understanding physical phenomena. In the third year, students select electives alongside senior-level astrophysics and physics courses such as statistical mechanics, quantum mechanics, and experimental methods, honing analytical and practical skills. The final year emphasizes advanced study in electricity and magnetism, condensed matter, and quantum mechanics, complemented by additional electives. Students also engage in a thesis project or senior science elective, allowing them to apply their learning to original research or specialized topics.
