COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Science program at Ontario Tech University provides a comprehensive and research-driven education in the life sciences, blending foundational knowledge with advanced laboratory and theoretical training. Students begin with core courses such as BIOL 1000U (Foundations in Bioscience), BIOL 1010U and 1020U (Biology I & II), along with essential studies in chemistry (CHEM 1010U, 1020U), physics (PHY 1030U or 1040U), and mathematics (MATH 1015U). Programming skills are introduced through CSCI 1040U, supporting bioinformatics and data analysis competencies. Intermediate courses deepen understanding in physiology (BIOL 2010U), genetics (BIOL 2020U), cell biology (BIOL 2030U), microbiology (BIOL 2060U), biochemistry (BIOL 2080U), and organic chemistry (CHEM 2020U). Analytical methods and statistics (STAT 2020U, CHEM 2130U, CHEM 3830U) further support scientific rigor. Advanced courses include pharmacology, animal physiology, developmental biology, molecular biology, and genomics.
