COURSE CURRICULUM

The Neuroscience program offers an in-depth exploration of the nervous system, integrating biology, chemistry, physics, psychology, and computer science. Students begin with foundational courses such as Biology I and II, Chemistry I and II, Introductory Physics, and Programming for Scientists, alongside Mathematics for Bioscience and Introductory Psychology. As the program progresses, students delve into more specialized topics including Human Physiology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Human Anatomy, Biochemistry, and Organic Chemistry. Core neuroscience content is covered through courses like Brain and Behaviour, Fundamentals of Neuroscience, Comparative Zoology, and Principles of Pharmacology and Toxicology. The curriculum also emphasizes movement and motor function with courses such as Introduction to Movement Neuroscience, Motor Control and Learning, and Anatomy of Human Movement. Psychology-based courses such as Developmental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, and Psychopathology provide insight into behavioural and cognitive aspects of brain function. Advanced topics include Neuropharmacology, Animal Behaviour, Bioethics, and Exploring Mental Health and Developmental Disabilities. Students further develop research and analytical skills through the Neuroscience Thesis Project I and II, and specialized courses like Advanced Topics in Neuromuscular Physiology and Integrative Neuroscience.
