COURSE CURRICULUM

The Biological Science program a structured progression of core courses and electives. In the first year, students complete foundational courses such as Foundations in Bioscience, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Ecology, Chemistry I and II, Mathematics for Bioscience, Introductory Physics, and Introductory Psychology, with a recommended elective in computer science. Students aiming for upper-year physics and mathematics must meet specific prerequisite requirements or demonstrate proficiency through course performance. The second year focuses on human physiology, genetics, cell biology, human anatomy, microbiology, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and statistics, alongside an elective. In the third year, students deepen their expertise with advanced topics like pharmacology and toxicology, animal physiology, neuroscience, biochemistry II, and nutrition, supported by five electives. The final year emphasizes specialization with courses in bioethics, neuropharmacology, and a senior biology elective, alongside options for completing a biology thesis project over two semesters or additional senior electives. This program offers flexibility through electives to tailor learning toward individual interests and career goals, providing a comprehensive foundation in biological sciences while preparing students for professional programs or scientific careers.
