COURSE CURRICULUM

The Public Health program features a comprehensive curriculum that integrates foundational and advanced courses across biological sciences, health sciences, and social sciences to prepare students for careers in public health and healthcare. It begins with core biology courses such as Biology I: Molecular and Cellular Systems and Biology II: Diversity of Life and Principles of Ecology, followed by human anatomy and physiology. Key health science courses include Health Promotion and Healthy Active Living, Social Determinants of Health, and Public Health Microbiology. The program emphasizes strong communication skills through courses in interpersonal communication, information literacy, and written communication. Students explore altered physiology, chronic disease prevention, and rehabilitation, along with critical topics like mental health, aging, nutrition, and developmental disabilities. Public health-specific courses such as Public Health I & II, Global Health, Epidemiology, and Program Planning, Implementation and Evaluation equip students with essential skills in population health, disease prevention, and health systems.
