COURSE CURRICULUM

The Energy Engineering program designed to equip students with a broad and in-depth understanding of sustainable energy systems. In the first year, foundational courses such as Technical Communications, Introduction to Engineering, Calculus I and II, Physics I and II, Chemistry for Engineers, Engineering Design, and Programming provide essential skills and knowledge. The second year introduces specialized topics including Energy and Environmental Impacts, Alternative Fuels, Material Properties, Differential Equations, Fluid Mechanics, Electric Circuits, Thermodynamic Cycles, and Statistics, along with liberal studies electives to broaden students’ perspectives. In the third year, students advance their expertise with courses in Computer-Aided Design, Strength of Materials, Energy Systems, Control Systems, Electro-Mechanical Energy Conversion, Heat Transfer, Power Systems, Hydrogen and Fuel Cells, Engineering Economics, and Artificial Intelligence in Engineering, plus additional liberal studies electives. The fourth and final year focuses on cutting-edge technologies and professional skills, offering courses in Smart Grid Fundamentals, Solar Energy, Wind and Hydro Energy, Life Cycle Engineering, Integrated Energy Systems, and Ethics, Law, and Professionalism for Engineers. Students also engage in a two-part capstone design project and select three engineering electives to tailor their learning. This comprehensive curriculum prepares graduates to lead in the energy sector, driving innovations toward a sustainable, low-carbon future.
