COURSE CURRICULUM

The Bachelor of Education (BEd) Primary-Junior program at Ontario Tech University offers a comprehensive and forward-thinking curriculum designed to prepare aspiring educators for success in kindergarten to Grade 6 classrooms. Courses such as Foundations I and II, Curriculum Theory and Practice, and Long Range Planning and Assessment equip students with essential pedagogical knowledge, while specialized courses like Learning and Development, Teaching for Inclusion, and Mental Health Issues in Schools address the diverse needs of learners. The program emphasizes key competencies sought by school boards, including digital literacies, with courses like P/J Digital Literacies I and II, Coding and Communication, and Learning in Digital Contexts.
