COURSE CURRICULUM

The Global Crime and Justice program offers a broad, interdisciplinary curriculum that integrates criminology, sociology, law, psychology, and political science to explore the complex nature of crime, justice, and social control. Students engage with foundational courses such as Introduction to Criminology and Justice, Foundations of Legal Studies, and Social Problems, building a solid understanding of how societies define crime and administer justice. Advanced courses address critical themes like Decolonizing Criminology, Gender, Sex, and (In)Justice, Critical Race Theory, and Restorative Justice, encouraging students to critically analyze systemic inequalities and promote fairness and equity. The program also includes specialized topics such as Police and Society, Corporate Crime, Cybercrime, Terrorism, and Indigenous Peoples and Justice, highlighting contemporary issues within global and local contexts. Research methods and data analysis are emphasized, equipping students with essential skills for evidence-based inquiry and policy development. Practical experiences, including practicums and independent studies, foster real-world application and leadership development. The program also covers international perspectives through courses in International Law, Human Rights, and Global Politics, broadening students’ understanding of justice on a global scale.
